»Ê¹Ú²©²ÊÍøÖ· is launching a new study abroad.
Students will focus on Spanish language immersion and Afro-Hispanic cultures and traditions, studying in the capital of Malabo. The course is led by Susana Castillo-RodrÃguez, assistant professor of Spanish, who regularly conducts research in the country.
It is one of several summer programs led by »Ê¹Ú²©²ÊÍøÖ· faculty. The others are centered around art, museums, and urban history in the ; exploring early education in ; and world religions and contemporary issues in . The Chamber Singers will also perform on an , operated for the first time through the Study Abroad office.
Through »Ê¹Ú²©²ÊÍøÖ·â€™s many academic partnerships, »Ê¹Ú²©²ÊÍøÖ· students will also be attending summer programs in Ecuador, Greece, Spain, Switzerland, Italy, France, and Austria.
Summer 2022 saw the first group of »Ê¹Ú²©²ÊÍøÖ· students return to study abroad after a prolonged hiatus caused by the outbreak of COVID-19.
