AASHE

ʹڲַ is one of almost 1,000 member institutions of the AASHE and one of 650 institutions in 9 countries that have voluntarily submitted a STARS report. 

Sustainability staff and commission members and students have presented sessions at several national conferences, including on how the College meets the U.N. goals and our award-winning map.

NYCSHE

NYCSHE is, in effect, a regional version of AASHE wherein NYS colleges and universities have a forum for sharing information and ideas and solving problems. The SUNY schools are included within the coalition and meet at the annual meetings of both AASHE and NYCSHE to discuss and learn from one another about relevant topics within the SUNY system.

Like all NYS governmental agencies, ʹڲַ is mandated by Governor Cuomo’s carbon emission reduction via 50% reliance on renewable energy sources by 2035.

ʹڲַ has earned the distinction as a “Green College” in the , every year since its initial publication in 2009.***

Along with 650 other colleges and universities, ʹڲַ has signed onto the ACUPCC, agreeing to ‘measure and report our greenhouse gas emissions, take immediate actions to reduce them, and develop and implement a plan to go climate neutral.’ ()

ʹڲַ is distinguished by . The arboretum, in combination with preserved forest corridors and grounds maintenance and plantings, contributes to the health of the local ecosystem via carbon sequestration and sustaining native plants and animals. In addition, those campus efforts improve the aesthetics and quality of life of our campus and adjacent community.
